Dr. Anthi Thangarajah is a distinguished GMC-accredited Consultant in Paediatric Gastroenterology, renowned for her expertise in both private practice at The Portland Hospital and in the NHS at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. With a specialization in paediatric diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, she is recognized as a JAG-accredited trainer, setting the standard for excellence in her field.
Graduating with a medical degree from King’s College London, Dr. Thangarajah achieved first-class honours in an intercalated BSc. She further honed her skills through a rigorous national training programme in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, culminating in a PhD at Imperial College London focused on the critical area of nutritional assessment in children with chronic intestinal conditions.
Her clinical focus is both comprehensive and impactful, addressing complex challenges such as feeding difficulties, gastroesophageal reflux, gastrointestinal allergies, intestinal failure, and inflammatory bowel diseases.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Thangarajah leads as the Chair for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and holds the Chair for Adolescence and Young People at the British Society of Gastroenterology. As an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, she passionately contributes to the next generation of medical professionals through her commitment to teaching and supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students, further solidifying her status as a leader in paediatric gastroenterology.
